EMS Annual Meeting 2009—Don't miss it!
September 17-19, 2009 will find the EMS in Orlando, Florida, at the Marriott Orlando Airport Hotel celebrating its National Meeting in conjunction with CrossGlobal Link (formerly IFMA). These joint meetings of mission professors, agency leaders, and others have been times of great encouragement and stimulation in the past. This year’s gathering promises to be as good or better than ever.
The theme for this year is “Ethics: Serving Jesus with Integrity,” and the presentation schedule features 19 papers focused specifically on this theme. The roster of presenters as well as the plenary sessions held in conjunction with CrossGlobal Link can be found below, or with additional information at www.crossgloballink.org/Registration_AC09.
An additional highlight of the conference this year will be distribution to EMS members of Missions from the Majority World: Progress, Challenges, and Case Studies, edited by Enoch Wan and Michael Pocock (Pasadena, Calif.: William Carey Library, 2009). This is volume 17 in the annual EMS monograph series. The volume grew out of 2008’s outstanding conference, “Mission Initiatives from the Majority World Churches.”
CrossGlobal Link is handling registration for the EMS annual meeting. There is a discount for EMS members. Be sure to register early to receive an additional discount available for registrations received before June 24. To register, go to www.crossgloballink.org/Registration_AC09.
Note that the registration fee covers the annual meeting, meals, breaks, and conference notebook, but does not include lodging. Participants must reserve their own hotel rooms at the Marriott Orlando Airport Hotel. The special meeting rate is $109 per room per night.
A link for reservations at the hotel is attached here: Marriott Orlando Airport Hotel, or the hotel can be reached from the CrossGlobal Link website. Alternatively, if you wish you may reach the hotel, which is located at 7499 Augusta National Drive, Orlando, FL 32822, by dialing 1-800-380-6751. If calling in your reservation, be sure to request the group rate for the CrossGlobal Link Annual Conference.
On-site check-in will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, with the opening dinner being served at 6:00 p.m. The meeting concludes with lunch on Saturday. See the full schedule below.
